Christopher and Sally's Wedding : Finally, here are Christopher and Sally's wedding pictures. The little point and shoot camera I was using really wasn't quite up to the task, but there are a few fun shots in there all the same.

Due to the file size I would not recommend printing these much above 4x6 or 5x7 as I think some of them will lose sharpness if you go bigger.

The files have been left unprotected, so you can all download whatever you like to your heart's content.

Cheers, Yvonne

Swapsball Committee visit to Christopher's Childrens Hospice : Our visit to Christopher's Children's Hospice, to see what effect the funds raised by this year's swapsball would have, left a strong impression on all of us.

The first feeling that hits you as you are warmly welcomed through their doors, is one of safety and calm. The theme is centred around journeys, as those who spend their final days here, are moving on to another place.

Everything here is intended to make the experience as soothing as possible for the families who come here. Rooms are arranged to look like playrooms even though they have full hospital capabilities.

Physical and mental stimuli are everywhere. On the walls, on the ceilings, entire rooms dedicated to engaging the senses, like the phenomenal light room, or the soft bouncy rubber room.

There is, of course, a more serious side to the hospice too. Death is a reality here and they do not try to run away from it but to address it in as gentle a way as possible. There are rooms for family to spend time with their children once they've passed on, and a fountain is being built which will have brightly painted stones in it with the names of children who have stayed here.

There is a childrens book, where parents add a page dedicated to their own child, and photographs of former patients decorate the walls.

The staff and volunteers we met were incredibly upbeat and positive and as the Charity Liaison for this year's Swapsball Committee, I am delighted that we chose CHASEcare Children's Hospices, and in particular, Christopher's, to support.

DLL Birthday Black Tie Celebration : It was Diving Leisure London's 7th Birthday party and we all got dressed up and headed down to glamorous Balham for a knees-up.

I had the good sense to leave before the food-fight started, but I gather a good time was had by all... was very proud to collect the "Most Confused Diver" award and if you don't know why I got it, I ain't gonna be the one to tell you!

Enjoy the photos, feel free to order prints from smugmug if you wish, or to leave a comment by the pictures - just remember that I can delete anything that's not rude enough!

My little pocket flash didn't cope very well with the big dark room, but there are still some nice shots there, I think.

Martin Johnson Testimonial Lunch : The Martin Johnson Testimonial Lunch at the Grosvenor House Hotel, 16 Dec 04, was a superb affair!

Seeing half the World Cup squad dressed up for the nativity play, including Jason Leonard as the angel, wings and all, defied description.

Sadly, it was too dark and my camera not big enough, to get any decent shot from where we were sitting, so I was restricted to capturing what I could from the gian display screens either side of the stage.

Listening to rugby legends Martin Johnson, Laurence Dallaglio and Jason Leonard winding each other up on the sofa and taking all manner of questions was truly superb.

Thanks very much to Simon Dael for a superb day out!!!

Oktoberfest 2006 :

New Page 1

Once again, a
very big thank you to everyone at Hypovereinsbank for the invitation to join
them at the Oktoberfest this year.

I think it's fair to say a SERIOUSLY good time was had by all.

The images are not print protected, so you can download them to your heart's
content. They're not all sharp due to, ehmmm, mitigating factors such as
alcohol, moving ferris wheels and general incompetence on behalf of the
photographer.

Enjoy, Yvonne.
